What could have been

Wondering about what could of been, Living what I wonder. The bars that keep me out of harm, While crushing what defence I have. Rhythmic clanks and metallic tastes, Wrap me in their cold clutches. Clammy fingers blocking vision, taking away a world that could have been.

Wandering (Haiku)

I want to be here, But my wandering mind won’t, I try but can’t stay.

Anzac Day Poem

Years ago, in Gallipoli, Young men fought for you and me. Digging their trenches, and living it rough, It’s the least to say that conditions were tough. But on they fought, body’s weary, Life didn’t seem very cheery. But when the war was over at last, Something happened, quite a contrast. On Flanders field which was dotted with graves, Flowers grew, pure shock they … Read More Anzac Day Poem

How to… Write a Tanka Poem!

A tanka poem is a kind of Japanese poetry that follows a simple syllable method. 🗒Tanka poems are similar to haiku poems, but they are a bit different. For example, tanka poems have 5 lines, while haiku’s only have three. In this post, I will be explaining how to write a tanka poem, and hopefully, (if you don’t already know), a new kind of … Read More How to… Write a Tanka Poem!

Rabbits

The wind wiped wildly, back and forth, left to right. Big, fat, oozing rain drops plopped down, bathing the moist grass. Flowers drooped under the heavy weight of the rain. The sky was painted an artistic milky grey, the gaps in the colour filled up with a melancholy blue. On a tiny hill made of damp, muddy grass, sat a person. A young girl … Read More Rabbits

Memories

Faded thoughts washed with newness Engraved in ink alone it stands Stumbling I reach to stop the falling of years The questions unanswered that burn deeper than any brand I try to help the moment stay longer, I beg it not to leave me alone Alone and vulnerable to the pains of things etched into stone

New Day

Twinkling lights danced across the lake, with the grace of a gazelle. The crisp evening air whipped around, making leaves scurry like field mice. The drifting leaves placed themselves decoratively all over the water, causing gentle ripples to shimmy their way across the pale liquid. Golden light seeped through gaps in among the trees who played host to critters and crawlers. In a second, … Read More New Day

Cow

The cow hopped on the bus, while others made a fuss. The grass was always green, ‘cause the gardeners were keen. The bus driver honked his horn, while the passengers started to mourn. The gardeners kept on pruning, but nature’s efforts they were ruining. The bus sped along, while the cow sang a song. The gardeners clipped and clipped, as well as they snipped … Read More Cow

The Cheese Hunter

Small frame. Furry figure. It’s the cheese hunter. Large eyes. Sparkling bright. It’s the cheese hunter. Paws rubbing. Making a plan. It’s the cheese hunter. Stepping forward. Reaching out. It’s the cheese hunter. Holding in its paws, It’s golden reward. It’s the cheese hunter. Nibbling contently. Gazing dreamily. It’s the cheese hunter.

Cheese Hunter

Sparkling eyes. Wet nose. It’s the cheese Hunter. Tiny paws. Delicate ears. It’s the cheese Hunter. Cautiously creeping. Led by its twitching nose. It’s the cheese Hunter. Grasping its yellow reward. Nibbling away to its hearts content. It’s the cheese Hunter.

Love.

Love isn’t presents. Love isn’t gifts. Love isn’t romantic dinners, out where there’s mist. Love isn’t roses. Love isn’t things. Love isn’t a big, fat, shiny diamond ring. Love is in your heart. Something you can’t see. Love is heartfelt, the best of the best. Love is always there, it never takes a rest.

Robbers

Through the lasers, shining bright There it sits, lighting the night The gem is on its way to be taken, Hopefully with out it’s beauty shaken They slip between the deadly lights, Taking things without any rights In their grasp it sparkles and glows, How they got there nobody knows Once again they slip through the beams of light, Giving people a sense of … Read More Robbers
